WHAT IS A SCIENCE CARNIVAL?

A Science/Math carnival is an special event hosted by a school. The school suspends their regular activities for the day to present hands on science activities in a carnival like arena. Science events and activities are set up inside and outside of the classrooms. The whole school community gets involved. Teachers, parent volunteers, presenters from local businesses and agencies, and students work together to create an outstanding educational experience for the school.

A Science/Math Carnival is a fun and different way to excite students about science and at the same time foster a partnership between your school and community. In this presentation, you will learn how a Science Carnival provides science and math experiences for students in grades K-6, and learn how to set up a similar program at your school.
